I took this image in the early hours of Wednesday morning (03:52am) and the moon was at Waning crescent 17% illuminated. It is a composite of two images taken a few minutes apart. The first image was taken to expose for the Milkyway and the second one to expose for the foreground.

I was at the beach a little after midnight and I set myself up on a bolder to do a time-lapse of the Milkyway rising and I was hoping to also capture the sunrise as well. But soon after the moon showed itself I was running into trouble because the tide was rising really fast and I had to abort mission. I will definitely try this again some other time from a safer spot.
